TARA News Letter for MARCH 2002
issue date: Feb 26 2002
from the pres: Greetings from the Lake!
The issue at hand: TARA Elections! The results from our survey indicate that TARA has a unique roll in the area. I'd like to
think that roll serves as the bond between us all in our hobby and spirit of volunteerism.
With the different Amateur radio clubs (and focus) in close proximity, TARA has evolved into
the "combined" membership of these volunteers to form the common meeting ground. This representation
allows us to gather, compare notes, and use TARA's resources for both our social and "practiced" communication events. Our elected board members and officers help guide that focus. And we need your input to continue
our unique group. Yes, it requires time, but it mostly requires responsibility. A small commitment for the
satisfying reward of helping to provide the atmosphere of comrodery and loyalty to our common bond of
Amateur radio in what ever roll is required.
(sheesh...you'd think I was running for election...)
So, consider the up coming elections and throw in your hat! There are at least 3 vacancies this year, so we need members to step forward and help TARA continue its traditions.! Click Here for Nomination Info
Hope to see many of you at the meeting! And Boy, is the WX Great for a drive!!!

Happenings: YOU ASKED FOR IT!
OK group, the survey indicated you wanted another communication event similar to the death Ride!
Well, we're gearing up to provide the communications for the "America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride" held on
June 2. This event circles Lake Tahoe with a special leg (for the long winded), to Truckee! We'll
need volunteers for rest stops, roaming, and base (at the Horizion Hotel on the South Shore). Details (click on details for tara info)
from our guest speaker for the month of March, Curtis Fong, the event organizer.
Al, kd7mxr, has been busy with his new post of membership Chairman. Besides organizing the membership
database, he has composed a new letter of appreciation for membership renewals and newcomers. A
posting of his work will be included on the web site in the near future. Thanks Al for your efforts.
